UAB’s defense entered 2026 with a new scheme and a nearly new starting lineup, and Delvon Gulley was one of the experienced pieces it was built around.
The 6-1, 190-pound junior started six games in 2025 after transferring from Alabama A&M, where he was a Freshman All-American. He also had coverage on the final play of UAB’s 2025 upset of Memphis.
Preseason previews noted that Gulley improved significantly during spring practice and projected him as a starter opposite Darrell Sweeting, giving the Blazers a proven corner on the outside.
