With Samford holding a 14-13 edge in the third quarter, Delvon Gulley flipped the game on the Bulldogs’ first possession of the half.
Gulley picked off Samford’s quarterback, and the Blazers turned the takeaway into Jonah Delange’s third field goal of the day, a 23-yarder that put UAB back in front 16-14. UAB never trailed again and pulled away for a 33-14 victory.
It was Gulley’s first interception of the season and one of three UAB picks on the day, along with Jordan and Ike Esonwune. Gulley joined quarterback Ryder Burton and Esonwune at the postgame press conference, which is available in the video gallery.
